Well, yesterday I did a tour of Wave Rock. Basically the tour consisted of driving for four hours, spending one hour at the rock and then driving back. It was ok, not as impressive as Ayers Rock of course. I met a nice Japanese girl (so many Japanese girls here!) and a guy from Hong Kong on the tour. It was nice to get out of Perth. Unfortunately, I almost missed the tour because I slept in. The night before was free beer night downtown, the deal is if 10 people from the hostel get together, we get a $50 bar tab. I planned to go home early, having to be awake at 6am for pick up at 7 but after going to the first pub, there were only 9 people left to hit the second one so I had to go along to be a warm body. Several hours (and beers ;p ) later, I finally made it home to stumble into my bed. I slept through my alarm (what's that ringing? zzz...oh well....) and awoke to Jess, the hostel owner saying "Elaine, the bus is here!" to which I said "$%!!@#! and hurriedly got dressed and made it outside. zzzzz....My roommates thought it was quite funny. Good thing the tour company was willing to wait a few minutes!

Man oh man....I miss Aki! Aki where are you? It's weird, I keep meeting couples who are travelling together and they ask me why my bf isn't here. I guess it is strange for me to take off on Aki for awhile (sorry! :( ) But it might be good for me as well, since I can't hide behind him and just be shy, I have to make an effort to talk to people. It is kind of lonely though sometimes. It seems like there are so many couples who are doing "travel around the world for one year" thing. Lucky them! I did meet one guy who was in the same situation as me though, he took off for 3 months without his gf. His gf will meet him at the end and take him home (she worried that he wouldn't come home). I also met a guy from Courtenay-Comox who has left home for a month and thinks maybe he won't have a gf when he returns, she was so upset about him leaving. It's weird what travelling can do to a relationship, even when one partner is still at home. Hmmm....

Well, in other news, my parents are going to visit my gps this weekend (Happy Thanksgiving!) and my grandfather has been having trouble with his angina, I hear. My dad thinks this might be the last time he sees my grandfather...yikes! That worries me quite a bit, I hope he's still around when I get back! Hope so....better call them and see how it's going...
