Made it to Perth on the train, long train ride, 2 nights plus one full day. Yawn. I met a couple of girls, a Japanese girl and an American girl. We hung out together for a few days, now the American girl's off to a job in a country pub and the Japanese girl's off on a tour up north. I still haven't decided what to do. Three weeks isn't a long time to get a job, plus I don't have a tax file number, bank account or mobile phone. That could be considered a problem. Maybe I'll just go around to the hostels and see if they have work in exchange for accommodation. I did talk to a hostel owner at the train station about something like that, but I checked a review of the hostel online and it said "this hostel owner gets too friendly with the female guests" Yikes! No thanks, he did seem kind of slimy. Oh well. On the other hand, I'm not sure I want to stay in Perth, although the Asian food is a dream come true, yumyum
